Watch my Music Video called the Last Day of Summer NOW!!!(Yay)

I’m so happy for all the love and support from the “Last Day of Summer” video! The process of making the video was really fun and very exciting. I wanted to give some background on the featured song the “Last Day of Summer”. It was written by my mentor and coach Howlett Smith aka “Smitty” in the late 60’s and performed by the amazing Spanky Wilson on her debut album for Mothers Records in 1968, called "Spankin' Brand New"! Howlett wrote this breathtaking song that is completely timeless. If you haven’t seen the video, please do! Click the link below!

Howlett is an incredible musician, composer, mentor and has written over 100 compositions like “Let’s Go Where the Grass is Greener” sung by the great Nancy Wilson. Words cannot express the incredible impact Howlett has had on my life- he taught me most of the songs that I sing to this day starting from when I was 14 years old!

It is such an honor to be able to sing and be inspired by the great singers and composers that came before me. I am so grateful to acknowledge the musicians playing in the music video! The vocal recording of the “Last Day of Summer” that you hear in my music video was taken from my LIVE performance at the Mayme Clayton Jazz Museum in Los Angeles last spring. The great Clayton Cameron was on drums, Michael Alvidrez on bass, Paul Cornish on piano, Aaron Shaw (tenor), Brian Swartz (trumpet) and Christopher Astoquillca (alto). They are ALL phenomenal people and musicians, please go check them out! The “Last Day of Summer” recording was mixed by “Lou” Buster Brown a Grammy award winning producer that has worked with artist such as Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams! Louis also recorded and directed the “Last Day of Summer” music video. A special thanks to my Dad Donald Deanwho took the super fun headshots and for SIMPLY just being an awesome DAD! I am so grateful for my Grandfather Donald DeanJamael Dean, Uncle Bill DeanDonald DeanDondei Dean, Mom, family members, teachers, mentors, and friends for all of their support, love, and guidance.
